I was at the 25 Anniversary Menton VW Meeting 2014 at the Côte d'Azur. The VW Show was organized by the CAC Cox d'Azur Volkswagen Club.
Menton is about 1400 kilometer from Bremen. Because I had only a few days, I took the airplane to Nice and then with a rental car to Menton. Nice is only 28 kilometer from Menton, where the VW Beetle and Bus (Coccinelles & Combis) meeting took place.
The official opening of the Meeting was Saturday the 16th August 2014 but many VW enthusiasts arrived a day before and camped at the Promenade du Soleil close to the beach. The location is awesome and hard to beat.
On Saturday was a Touristic rally to the little Gorbio village about 10 kilometer beyond the French Riviera. I was enjoying the cruise in a superb 1969 T2a Bus which was the first classic Volkswagen of the convoy fully loaded with Cox d'Azur Club Stuff and me.
The main day of the Menton VW Show, with lots of day visitors, was Sunday the 17th August. On Sunday was the Show & Shine and at about 14:15 was the VW Parade along the Beach promenade. After the cruise was the Show and Shine Award and a Pin up Show.
The beautiful Cote d'Azur with the classic VWs is fantastic. I hope I can come the next time with my Beetle.
