Superb VW Oval Bug Petri Pealit Banjo steering wheel in very good condition. It is complete, all parts are original, it has never been repainted and all is unrestored.

The chrome has some small dots. The horn button chrome has tiny dents at 6 a clock. The steering wheel has no cracks. The steering wheel diameter is 40cm, the steering column mounting hole at the rear side is 2,7cm and the weight is 2500g. It has 48-tooth fine splined hub Introduced with VW Oval Beetle 1957. Nevertheless, it can also be mounted on the 24-tooth steering shaft. The GHE 1959/60 catalog is not included. Made in Germany.

I sold and packed this steering wheel back in 2013; however, the buyer never paid. Now, in 2026, I have rediscovered the package, unpacked it, and taken a few new photos. I have left the original photos from 2013 (the lighter, smaller images) included for Google's reference.

When I purchased this steering wheel from its original owner approximately 20 years ago, it had already been sitting in a closet for decades. I have never removed the horn button myself, partly because I am unsure of the exact procedure, and partly because it already bears dents resulting from improper removal attempts in the past. To avoid further damage—such as dents—the horn button should be removed by someone who knows exactly how to do it.
